Lindsey Brooke Design is ONE!

Well I can't believe it. It's been one year to the day that I started blogging and started Lindsey Brooke Design.

Before I was a stay at home mom, I had a career in wholesale that started in interiors at Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic. Before that I graduated from Fashion School and worked as a Stylist and Costumer. Design has always been in my blood. When I stopped working and as most of you moms know its very easy to loose yourself in your new role as "Mom". I lost all my creative outlets and now the most creative thing I was doing was making different baby foods.

That's when I decided to start LBD. Mostly for inspiration, creative outlet, and something to do. I joined Instagram. I made a blog. I actually had friends who wanted me to style, decorate or design their homes. I even went to a blogger event! I started getting actual real, non family clients. Things were starting to take shape. Blogging is an interesting thing. You spend all this time creating posts and content just hoping and praying that somebody will read it and it won't go un-noticed. For me it was euphoric using my mind and creativity again. I didn't care if 5 million, 5 hundred, or 5 people saw it. It made me feel good, it filled a void, it made me happy again.

Instagram became my main source for getting traffic to my blog, but what shocked me most were the people I would meet through it. Friends, collaborators, that not only would inspire me but would support me. It's incredible.

Then April came around and I got pregnant with our second child. That's when LBD went dark. I stopped blogging, I even stopped posting on Instagram. As you can tell I am not a good at being pregnant. My world stops and therefore I didn't continue anything until after my son was born. But during that time it made me realize how much I want to make Lindsey Brooke Design something bigger. I missed it, I missed getting inspired, I missed you!

So now that I'm ONE, I have written down my goals for the next year. Hoping to make LBD a little bigger and better then this previous year. It's all about growth right? I hope you take the journey with me and continue to support and get inspired. Thank you all so much for already doing that and more. I can't wait to see what this new year holds. Cheers!
